Single Sign-On
The Swapcard Single Sign-On (SSO) helps your attendees to log in securely on different services with a single ID and password. The purpose of SSO is to help you to centralize and simplify your user experience.
Swapcard can both act as Service Provider (SP) or Identity Provider (IdP). By acting as Identity Provider (IdP), we help attendees to access to any additional services without the drawback to remember multiple IDs and passwords.
Security Assertion Markup Language 2.0 (SAML 2.0)
Standard for exchanging authentication and authorization data between security domains. SAML 2.0 is an XML-based protocol that uses security tokens containing assertions to pass information about a principal (usually an end user) between a SAML authority, named an Identity Provider, and a SAML consumer, named a Service Provider.
Identity Provider (IdP)
Identity Provider (IdP) is an online service that authenticates users by means of security tokens. It is the producer of assertions.
Service Provider (SP)
Service Provider (SP) is the software that provides access control and communicates with the Identity Provider (IdP) for identity information. It is the consumer of assertions.
